Many people struggle with lower back pain and stiffness. This can lead to pain and stiffness in other areas as well, such as hips, upper back, which then can lead to shoulder and neck pain. Practicing yoga on a regular basis has proven to help with relieving tension, stiffness and alleviating pain. For this reason, we have decided to launch a full lower-back pain series. We have gotten many requests for these classes and we really hope that this helps to relieve any pain, stiffness or accumulated tension that you may have in your lower back.
This is a very gentle and more restorative class suitable for ALL levels. It is designed to help you open up the lower back through a series of postures. I invite you to please listen to your body throughout the entire practice, if you need to take a moment to recover, please go ahead and do so. You may choose to go into a child’s pose for recovery. At any standing poses, if the pose feels too intense due to tension or stiffness, I invite you to bend your knees as this will help to alleviate the tension a bit. In any seated position, if you are experiencing tension, I invite you sit on a rolled up blanket, towel or block as this too will help to alleviate pressure. If you have any back injuries, I highly recommend that you speak to your doctor first to see if it is safe for you to engage in any physical activity first.
I hope you find this class helpful and from my heart to yours,
Namaste!
