This is a 60 minute vinyasa flow, part 2 of a new series of mindful movement classes. Meditative flows that combine breath, movement and mindfulness techniques. These practices encourage you to cultivate a state of presence and calm anchoring your attention into the here and now. This kind of attention nurtures greater clarity, awareness and equanimity.
In this class, we establish our breath as an entry point and then widen our awareness to feel all the sensations as we flow. Begin class with a 5 minute seated meditation and then flow in this slow, heat building class with two standing series, repeated twice. Once slow, then one movement, one breath. Dance through warriors, temple, lunges, twists and balance. Cool down with some forward folds and a longer shavasana.
For practice, you may wish to have a folded blanket.
