60 Minute Playful Vinyasa Flow for Balance & Coordination

By | March 2, 2021

This is a 60 minute playful vinyasa flow class focussed on improving your balance and coordination. Class begins by warming your shoulders, wrists, spine and hips with some whole body movement, connecting to your core and cultivating a spacious awareness of your body. Class then weaves some creative and accessible balance into the flow. Practice swimming your arms and gaze in your lunge, experiment with one foot balances keeping your centre of gravity low, balance on just your toes in a squat and play with boat with a bind. If you’re feeling steady, progress with some optional arm balances – Kakasana and Eka Pada Koundinyasana. Complete your practice, releasing your shoulders, hips and re-aligning your spine before resting back in Shavasana or seated meditation.

Practicing your balance improves your concentration and coordination, helping you to stand and walk with better posture and spacial awareness. When we practice….wobbling and refreshing our balance moment to moment we not only bring our flesh and muscles into alignment but also our nerve impulses, thoughts and emotions. This can instil a deep feeling of calm as all our attention and energy is focussed.

This class was filmed at Wilsons Promontory National Park on Norman Beach.
