Hatha yoga is known for holding the asana – the yoga poses – for longer periods of time. While the Vinyasa style of yoga moves quicker, one breath per movement, in Hatha, we usually spend 3 – 5 breaths in each posture. This makes it perfect for beginners. Each posture is meant to cultivate energy through a particular chakra. In a way, Hatha yoga is the original chakra yoga! For this 10-minute Hatha yoga flow class, we move through the postures slowly and carefully, making it a delicious way to start the day. If you’re new to yoga, recovering from an injury, or are looking to de-stress by moving slowly and mindfully, this style of yoga is exactly what you need. Optional Props: Two Yoga Blocks.
